In the Cabana Square, Argsotoli, in the shadow of the Bell Tower, is a unique Art and Craft shop, ‘Down The Rabbit Hole’. Karen’s quirky shop is definitely worth visiting and is the only place on the island where you can see and buy my paintings. The works that are available in the shop are all original oil paintings, and because of their size, are easily transportable.
Down the Rabbit Hole
came to fruition in 2013 after a spur of the moment decision by the owner, Karen Fozzard, to fall into a magical world where everything sold is unique and random dancing and laughter are the order of the day. After living on the Island of Kefalonia for 5 years and not being able to sell the Artwork and Jewellery which she created and were her passion she opened the Rabbit Hole, so called because after living on the Island a few months she began to feel like she'd fallen into 'Wonderland' with strange occurrences happening daily. After telling her accountant that she wanted to open within a month the accountant told her it was impossible. She hummed the 'Mission Impossible' theme tune at him, showed him the tattoo on her arm that says, "I believe in as many as six impossible things before breakfast," and told him it was do-able. One month and one day later the store opened. Two years later it goes from strength to strength with customers returning to join in the usual shennanigans which can be guitar playing, bubble gun blowing or hoola hooping. One thing is for sure, there is never a dull moment! All the items in the store are unusual and quirky , often being one-off pieces as Karen believes that people should wear individual things as each person is unique, as should be their jewellery, as is the art work, hence now selling beautiful paintings by Peter Hemming.
